29 April 2025

Our 2026–31 regulatory reset is driven by our biggest community engagement yet. In a recent webinar with our research partner, Forethought, Powercor'sExecutive General Manager Regulation, Renate Vogt, joined a panel of industry leaders to explore how authentic community engagement can reshape the future of energy and deliver outcomes that benefit the communities they serve, now and in the future.

Here’s a quick look at the ideas shared—and why they matter to you.

Renate joined a panel of respected industry leaders, including:

The discussion focused on three key themes: what community engagement means to Powercor; the evolution of community engagement, including its core principles and innovations; and the often-overlooked advantages that strong engagement strategies can bring to both organisations and communities.

Below is a brief recap into Powercor's perspective on these topics.

  • What is community engagement?

For our 2026-31 regulatory reset, engagement means a customer led proposal, with specific focus on:

    • Listening to the voice of the consumer
    • Achieving the outcomes customers want in a cost-effective way, through economic and engineering analysis.
  • How is community engagement evolving?

As we continue to innovate, the ways we gather, present, and evaluate customer feedback are improving, helping us better integrate the community’s perspective.

Two innovative methods we implemented in the 2026-31 regulatory proposal, were the Triangulation method and quantifying customer feedback.

  • Advantages of a strong engagement strategy?

Using evidence to amplify the voices of customers to influence and shape energy projects and policies.

Better equipped to demonstrate to industry governing bodies, the broader benefits of proposed projects beyond just economic efficiency.
