1 February 2026

In 2022 we established a Customer Advisory Panel (CAP) which is an independent advisory body. One important role of the CAP is to advise us on our regulatory proposal which represents our investment plans for 2026 to 2031 and ensure it is reflective of needs and preferences of our customers.

In December 2025, we released our revised proposal for consideration by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), which followed our regulatory proposal submission in January 2025. This revised version incorporated further engagement with our customers and stakeholders; including feedback from the CAP. It also considered the AER’s draft response to our regulatory proposal.

The CAP has now reviewed both the AER’s draft response of our regulatory proposal, as well as our revised proposal and has published a report in response.

What the CAP told us

The CAP supported the regulatory and revised proposal noting it addressed aspects of the service that are most important to customers.

Customers have told us that they want:

  • reliable, safe and resilient electricity supply
  • everyone to have access to affordable and equitable electricity
  • help to transition towards sustainable energy sources for a cleaner future.

The CAP is complementary of our additional engagement with customers and stakeholders across 2025, noting that it provided meaningful insights and evidence of customers’ needs and expectations.

The report also outlines the CAP views on programs including:

  • Electrification of rural and regional customers
  • Resilience/ bushfire mitigation and vegetation management
  • Customer assistance package
  • Customer service incentive scheme
  • Tariffs
  • Innovation allowance
